THE TORAH IS NO LONGER FULLY APPLICABLE

TORAH
About the Falsely “Torah-observant” -Jewish and Gentile Messianic Judaism,Firstly what does Jesus’ Jewish identity have to do with anything? This is never magnified in the New Testament.

Jesus is the Savior of all who will repent and submissively trust in him. Rev. 7 states there will be people in God’s kingdom from every tribe, people, language and nation all redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus.

Of what nationality Messiah, Jesus Christ was as He walked the earth is totally irrelevant to the gentiles.

Jesus was born into a Jewish family, but he was not a real Jew as his father God was not a Jew.

There is no where in the New Testament Bible or in the Old Testament Bible where are we to call Jesus other than his given Greek name Jesus Christ, and rather not some Hebrew derivation of it too now. Now when I see people start to use Jewish titles for Jesus, being ashamed to mention the name Jesus the Christ directly, I really start to believe that they too now have gone of the deep end.. for the devil hates the name of Jesus and so do his followers. I get bothered also by the Christians who do not mention the Holy Spirit often.. What fool still says, “Jesus is Not His Name?” Obviously, not somebody who knows the Scriptures in either the Old or New Testament.

ALL OF THE ANCIENT GREEK MANUSCRIPTS CALL HIM JESUS. ALL cross references call Jesus by God’s personal name in Hebrew which is “YAHWEH”. When Peter, on the Day of Pentecost said, quoting Joel 2: 33 as only one reference to Jesus, said, ‘And it shall be that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved’ (Acts 2: 21), where it says in Hebrew, “For it shall be, all who call on the name of Yahweh shall be saved” (Heb. 3: 32). “Yahweh” is God’s personal name in Hebrew and it is “Jesus” in Greek (‘transliterated from the Greek: ‘Iesous) which means “Yahweh is salvation”. Nothing could be more clearer than that. His name is never “YAHUWSHUWA” which is just about the silliest and stupidest name that has ever been made up. It’s enough to make one laugh and not serious enough to take seriously. It demonstrates a complete lack of any scholarship at all.

The English translators of the KJV created a composite name in an attempt to go along with the Jewish tradition of not speaking the Name of Yahweh and when ever they saw “The Name” they will not speak it for fear of being cursed by God, they would say “Lord”. They put together the consonants of Yahweh and the the vowels of Adonai to make up Jehovah which is not really God’s Name. At least they explained why they did it even though it is not accurate. These fools go from on extreme of error to another extreme. http://thefocusonthefamily.wordpress.com/2011/11/16/who-is-jesus-christ-is-he-a-jew-gentile-or-neither-now/

The  Greek New Testament is by far the best-attested (and best preserved) literature of antiquity, with manuscript evidence dating back to the first century.

For example, the Magdalen Fragments  are written in a style of  Koine Greek that was current in the 1st Century A.D. during the very lives of the apostles. Indeed, ancient papyrus expert Carsten Thiede and other scholars regard certain fragments from the Gospel of Matthew to be an eyewitness account.   We have some anecdotal evidence of a   gospel that underlies the others gospel accounts,   but it is clear — both from history and from the textual evidence we have – that the Holy Spirit chose to use Koine (i.e., “common”) Greek as the language to reach out to the world.  This is true, incidentally, of the Torah and Nakh, which were   also  translated into Koine Greek (i.e., the Septuagint, or LXX).  Many of the oldest Biblical fragments among the Dead Sea Scrolls correspond more closely with the LXX than with the (later) Masoretic text, and indeed we have evidence of Koine Greek manuscripts that were discovered in the Qumran caves themselves .

Now when Jesus went into the synagogue and was handed the scroll of Isaiah that that scroll was written in Greek?and the the New Testament Gospels do include non-Greek words in the text (spelled with Greek letters). And some of these words are Aramaic ?So, while Jesus’ use of them may reflect  his Aramaic speech, we can’t even be 100% sure of this. And we do not have in the New Testament Gospels a quotation of Jesus in Hebrew ..  Unfortunately, many of those who make the case for a Hebrew-speaking Jesus seem to be motivated by something other than a desire to know which language(s) he actually spoke.) The so-called “biblical case” for the Hebrew speaking Jesus rests mainly on one verse in, not in the Gospels, but in Acts of the Apostles. You  absurdly cannot make a major statement with one fact, one verse.. when you have a whole Greek New testament.. one cannot use this as proof that he always spoke Hebrew, or mainly spoke Hebrew, or even spoke Hebrew in any other circumstance. In no other place does the New Testament tell us that Jesus spoke Hebrew.

The fact that the Gospels are written in Greek shows that   most of the earliest Christians, including some who followed Jesus during his earthly ministry, knew Greek and used it often, perhaps as their first language.

Many Jewish writings from the era of Jesus were written in Greek, including works such as 2 Maccabees and 1 Esdras. Other Hebrew writings were being translated into Greek in Jerusalem (the book of Esther, for example, in 114 B.C.). Speaking of Jerusalem, scholars have found some ninety Greek inscriptions on ossuaries (boxes for bones) that date to around the time of Jesus and were found in or around Jerusalem. Ever since Alexander the Great conquered Judea  in 332 B.C., Greek had been the language of government and, increasingly, commerce and scholarship. Though Aramaic continued to be spoken by many, Greek grew in its popularity and influence. In the time of Jesus, well-educated Jews, mainly those of the upper classes, would have known and used Greek. So would those who were involved in trade or government Get wise and learn the truth.   Jesus was not handed the dead sea scrolls.. he read from the Greek Scroll Bible.

The presence and pervasiveness of Greek in Judea is demonstrated by a discovery in the Nahal Hever region of the Judean Desert near the Dead Sea. In a cave, a scroll was found that contains substantial portions of the minor prophets in Greek. The so-called Nahal Hever Minor Prophets Scroll, dated around the time of Jesus, shows the influence and popularity of Greek, even among highly religious Jew..     In Matthew 8:5-13, for example, Jesus entered into dialogue with a Roman centurion. The centurion almost certainly spoke in Greek. And, as Matthew tells the story, he and Jesus spoke directly, without a translator. The same could be said about Jesus’ conversation with Pontius Pilate prior to his crucifixion (Matthew 27:11-14; John 18:33-38). If Jesus knew enough Greek to converse with a Roman centurion and a Roman governor, where did he learn it? at Home and in school.. Jesus’ hometown was a short walk from Sepphoris, which was a major city and one in which Greek was spoken.

Christianity is a new Religion that is not an updated Judaism, or a revised Judaism.. Most Messianic Jews too now are also still going to hell.. as they are firstly not willing to give up all to follow Jesus . For some Jews Jesus must have spoken Hebrew to some of the people, otherwise some how his mission as the Messiah would have been deficient. Some Jews are were worried that if Jesus had not  spoke Greek he did not care for the Jews basically.. That is about right next…

No one still even knows what the Jewish Culture was like at the time of Jesus since the Romans burned all the Jewish books and Library and none exist today thus..  People who are still falsely  hung up on a Jewish culture,  scripture still need the Holy Spirit to explain it anyway and most people do not have Him, the Jews especially..

Why are some of the Jews mostly falsely so argumentative and hung up on a Hebrew Jesus? when most of the Jews have rejected him anyway and are mostly going to hell.. Read all of my  my posts and learn.. and stop trying to justify any perversions of their reality.. There is no existing  evidence of a Hebrew Gospel of Matthew.. never has been and anyone has yet  had  failed to prove it too..  The fact that Jesus may have spoken Greek may help us to think differently about him and his ministry. For many years it was common to envision Jesus as growing up in the countryside of Galilee, far removed from multi-cultural hodge-podge of the Roman Empire. But this idealized view of the rustic Jesus is far from the truth. Though he grew up in a small town, he was not at all cut off from the broader Roman world.

In fact Jesus grew up with ample exposure to Greco-Roman language, culture, commerce, politics, religion, and philosophy. When he eventually entered Jerusalem to confront the Roman and Jewish authorities there – and to give his life in the process – Jesus was no naive country bumpkin making his first trip to the big city. Rather he was well aware of powers and perils he faced, and he faced these knowing, as he ultimately said to Pontius Pilate (in Greek, I believe), “My kingdom is not from this world” (John 18:36).    Given the Holy Spirit, not just excellence of English translations of the Bible by translators who have mastered all of the relevant languages, it’s not necessary for the ordinary Christian to learn Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic in order to understand the teaching of Jesus .and his teachings.. In fact too many Hebrew , Aramaic and Greek speaking persons are still very ungodly  persons.

Also Jews are no longer a race. There is no genetic code passed from either mother or father to the child that makes that child a Jew. It is only a cult, religion, culture. Genetics might indicate that ones ancestors were Jews, but that does not, in fact, make one a Jew. Even if all, or some, of the genetic code in a child proved to be of Jewish origin, that would not make the child a Jew. Jewish law determines who is a Jew, and Jewish law is quite clear. If a person’s mother is a Jew, and that person has not converted to another faith and wishes to identify solely as a Jew, then that person is considered fully Jewish. In addition, a convert to Judaism is fully Jewish. Although one cannot convert to become a member of a race (for example one cannot convert to become an Asian or an African-American), one can convert to become a Jew. If someone who is Asian or African-American converts to Judaism, that person obviously remains an Asian or an African-American, and at the same time is a Jew. However, if one converts from Judaism to another faith, one is no longer a Jew.

Satan wants you to think of the verse “ and so all Israel shall be saved “ , but in reality it  means that all who trust Christ as Savior and Lord , not any unbelieving Jews will be saved. Only a small remnant of Jews still will accept Christ after he has poured out his wrath upon them for their constant rejection of him . Christians and  the current non-Christian Jews also do worship different gods ,  The Jews do not, did not  truly honor Christ as the promised Messiah , but are looking for another that will come in his own name . An Antichrist in reality.

The Talmud  itself speaks of absolute mockery and hatred for Jesus Christ and all Christians. An unbelieving Christ rejecting Jew will go to the same hell that an unbelieving Gentile will go to . The more interesting fact is, when did  most of Jews stop worshiping God? Before or after Jesus was born? Rather before and after..

THE BIBLE TENDS TO BE MORE OF A RECORD OF THE JEWS, HUMANITIES WRONGS DOINGS. UNDENIABLE EXAMPLES OF SOME MAJOR JEWISH PERSONS, LEADERS  WHO DISOBEYED GOD IN THE BIBLE

There is still a  “ Very Serious Problems Spiritually  With The  Messianic Jewish Congregations .” as they clearly are Unchristian..

Today when any persons tells me that they are “Torah-observant” then all kinds of alarms go off. It may be that they are just into Hebrew roots‘ – but usually it is a lot worse than that

You are a Messianic Jew? But there really is no such thing in the whole New testament.. all the Jews became Christians.. https://anyonecare.wordpress.com/2012/08/04/the-dangers-of-the-hebrew-roots-messianic-movement/

It is a fact that if you base even your Christian theology on the Old Testament alone you will be in serious error. Major, major error.

https://anyonecare.wordpress.com/2013/12/28/you-are-a-messianc-jew/

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”  Even the Messianic Jews are falsely as antagonistic to Christianity as traditional Jews are. For Messianic Jews to respond with such a level of disdain brings to mind the words of Paul, “You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans?” And, “If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.” The Messianic Judaism  is now falsely  obsessed with taking over from both religions, especially Christianity. Messianic Judaism is no longer  a proper conduit especially suitable for spreading spiritual  Christian truth precisely because it has not obtained the status of either Non-Messianic Judaism or real Christianity. Judaism and Messianic Judaism are both embroiled in religious politics and the insatiable desire for wealth and power. Messianic Jews seem to want to wrest power and resources away from Christianity and be corrupted by the same influences that have so greatly hindered Christianity’s effectiveness.

If Messianic Jews truly believe in what they practice, what does it matter if Christians, Jews, atheists, or anyone else criticizes them?  Instead of worrying about Jewish acceptance, Messianic Jews should occupy themselves with knowing God and being accepted by Him. Instead of falsely  battling Christians, Messianic Jews should seek to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind”[3] and “Love your neighbor as yourself,” for “All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Messianic Jews should work on growing spiritually and building each other up, that they may glorify the Lord. “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”

Instead of their falsely focusing on proving to Christians that the Torah is still in effect.. “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love.” Become real Christians not merely still  pretenders, imposters, wolves in sheep clothing. AND WHEN YOU DO NOT DO WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO DO THESE SAME RATHER LITTLE BAD CHILDREN INSULT YOU, SLANDER YOU, DIVORCE YOU, OSTRACIZE YOU, BAD MOUTH YOU.  And does  God still show false partiality? to the Christians? or to the Jews? Arabs? NO.. they all will reap what they sow, had sowed on this earth as well as here after.

It may surprise you to discover that the New Testament never uses the term ‘chosen’ to describe the Jewish people. It is only used of those who follow Jesus.   Reality  is that the New Testament never uses the term ‘chosen’ to describe the Jewish people. Chosen now it  is only used of those who follow Jesus.. reality!

MANY JEWS, EVEN MESSIANIC JEWS LIE ABOUT CHRISTIANITY

https://jesussayscome.wordpress.com/2014/11/18/many-jews-even-messianic-jews-lie-about-christianity/

The Christian Apostle Paul was so strong against the Judaizers. He saw that Christians were being tempted – not to place their faith in Christ alone – but rather in Christ PLUS the keeping of the Law. It was no longer a simple trust in JESUS to be their righteousness. They now started to feel they had to keep the letter of the Old Law too – in order to be truly “holy”. And so they became “Judaized”. The Judaizers were insisting that you could not be saved without adhering to the Jewish law. This is the worst religious trap possible.

The Apostle Peter opposed the Judaizers by reporting on how God poured out His Holy Spirit on the gentiles: “So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Now, therefore, why do you test God by putting a yolk on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?” Acts 15:8-10

The Apostle Paul and Barnabas testified to the miraculous works of God among the Gentiles. James pointed out how this was the fulfillment of many prophecies and he declared: “Therefore I judge that we should not trouble those from among the Gentiles who are turning to God, but that we write to them to abstain from things polluted by idols, from sexual immorality and from things strangled and from blood.” Acts 15:19-20

The conclusion of the Jerusalem Conference is recorded in Acts 15:22-29. In it the Apostles, elders and brethren of the Church in Jerusalem dissociated themselves from the Judaizers who were “unsettling your souls” by requiring observance to Jewish ceremonial law “to whom we gave no such commandment.”

The council decreed: “For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things:” to abstain from idolatry, immorality and blood. There is no mention here of the Jewish Sabbath or any of the many distinctiveness being insisted by modern Judaizers.

So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Now, therefore, why do you test God by putting a yolk on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?” Acts 15:8-10

Those who today are seeking to reject our Christian calendar and Reformation heritage and bring us back under Jewish culture and law need to read the words of the Apostle Paul: “O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not… obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of Faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?” Galatians 3:1-3

Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage … and I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from Grace.” Galatians 5:1-4

The Scriptures further teach: “Let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon, or Sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.” Colossians 2:16-17

Christians are “dead to the law by the body of Christ” (Rom. 7.4). Before being saved a man is “in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death” (v.5) and Hell. Hence, if you live by the law even a law unto yourself, you will die by that law and be eternally separated from God. Such a law might be trying to keep the Sabbath or not eat a certain type of food or performing certain rituals. “But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter” (v.6).

The next time you come across a Messianic Judaizer, simply say you reject their Christ because we are called Christians, not Messianic Judaism Jews or Messianic Judaism Gentiles, for Jesus filled up the law (Matt. 5.17).

The New Testament Scriptures also makes it now certain that the national restoration of Israel after the flesh is not a part of the revealed will of God, but that the reverse is true. God regards natural Israel earthly kingdom with utter detestation, and He will never restore it next

When John the Baptist preached to the Jewish people, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand,” he was not announcing the setting up again of the earthly throne of David for Israel as many Jews, some professing Christians falsely hoped, believe it would happen again.

http://mccainvrsobama.wordpress.com/2013/06/16/clearly-the-zionists-are-still-immoral-and-unbiblical/

Rom 9:31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. 32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone; 33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumbling stone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed..

Jews and God, Jesus

Bible Inspired

1

It is interesting that racial Israel refuses even today to admit her abandonment by God and her sins, need of Jesus Christ. Israel was continuously unfaithful to her husband God from the beginning.   For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18).
 .
Jews may still be saved on an individual basis by coming to Jesus Christ, but the racial nation of Israel and the Jews as a people no longer have any part to play in God’s redemptive plan. On the day of Pentecost, the true Israel, Jewish believers in Jesus, was taken by the Holy Spirit and formed into the nucleus of the New Testament church (Acts 2)

What about the laws of Moses are they applicable today

When Jesus was on earth, he kept the laws of Moses — but he also criticized them. Soon after he went back to heaven, his followers met to decide whether any Christians should keep the laws of Moses. The question came to the foreground when people who weren’t Jewish began to follow Christ: “Some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, ‘The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to obey the law of Moses’” (Acts 15:5).. Anyone who knew the teachings of Jesus would already know that unbiblical traditions were not required. They did not need to debate about Jewish traditions.

Jesus also said that the greatest among you would be the servant of you all (Matthew 23:11).

Jesus in the gospels asked Peter: “Peter, do you love me?”, to which his Apostle answered “ Yes.”Jesus then says: “Feed my flock.”

Jesus is calling upon his disciples not just to walk daily with him and listen to his daily words, he is also calling upon all of his disciples to respond always in love,  this Obedience is not works to earn salvation, but rather the result of our trust in the Lord. Obedience demonstrates our real trust, respect, and love. Obedience is the confirmation  of our spiritual condition.

If you personally do know Jesus Christ, the holy Spirit they will lead and guide you into all truth, and help you to keep away from sin.. something the ten commandments do not do.. If you personally do  not know Jesus Christ, the holy Spirit then what  does it matter as you are headed to Hell anyway. How do you recognize if a person is a true Christian, or what is a Christian? “

It is amazing how new testament Bible ignorant persons falsely dispute the facts about Jews, Israel and Messianic Jews.. The New Covenant, the New testament, has replaced the Old Covenant, the old Testament.. the New Covenant is not a continuation of the old but it’s substitute. Judaism, plus JEWS are now dead to God and is Satanic! “…I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.” —Revelation 2:9

MATT 22-35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

SO WHY DO MANY  NEGLECT THE REST OF THE NEW TESTAMENT? JESUS WAS ALSO TALKING TO A JEW SOLELY,

I KNOW OF ONLY TWO COMMANDMENTS  HE JESUS  ASKED US ALL TO OBEY, SO WHY ARE SOME CONTRADICTING JESUS AND CLAIMING THERE ARE OTHERS? REALLY.

Really now does Jesus” say to all if you love me keep my commandments, the MOSAIC Law and Jesus gave his disciples “a new commandment”and not the old commandments,

DO EVEN ANY OF THE APOSTLES CONFIRM THE OBSERVANCE OF THE DEAD NOW JEWISH LAWS?

Keeping the Sabbath,  This commandment has been one of the distinguishing features of the Jewish Religion. The Sabbath is meant to be about making life easy, but the Jews complicated matters by legislating what could or could not be done on the Sabbath. They created so many laws that the Sabbath became a burden to the people; rather than the blessing it was ordained to be.  https://postedat.wordpress.com/2012/06/01/christians-pretenders-who-hold-to-the-saturday-sabbath/

It would be impossible for anyone to observe all the commands that are applicable to the Jews, of which there are 613 according to Maimonides And for the 613 commandments to be kept, the Temple at Jerusalem would have to be built and a priesthood and the system of sacrificial offerings would have to be instituted. The same one God rather destroyed.

For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols and from blood and from what is strangled and from unchastity. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell. (Acts 15:28–29)

https://witnessed.wordpress.com/2015/03/10/yes-the-new-covenant-is-not-a-continuation-of-the-old-testament/

YOU ARE NOW A JEW OR A CHRISTIAN AND BUT NOT BOTH FOR BEING JEWISH MEANS FOLLOWING THE JEWISH RELIGION SOLELY AND NOT THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION.

Peter reminded the people that God had used him to preach the gospel to Cornelius and his family (Acts 10). Cornelius was not circumcised, but Peter did not use that as proof. Rather, he focused on the foundations of how a person is saved—by believing. “God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. He made no distinction between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith” (vs. 8-9). God gave the Holy Spirit to this uncircumcised family, purifying their hearts, calling them holy, as acceptable to him, because of their faith. Peter then began to scold the people who wanted the gentiles to obey the laws of Moses: “Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of the disciples a yoke that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear? No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are” (vs. 10-11). Peter’s point is that the yoke of Moses was a burden that the Jewish people were not able to keep successfully. Those rituals showed that, no matter how hard people worked, they could never be perfect. They showed, for anyone who ever wondered, that works can never lead to salvation. Salvation is attained in a different way—by grace. We can’t earn it, so it has to be given to us. Since the law of Moses cannot bring us salvation, there is no need to require the gentiles to keep it. God gave them the Holy Spirit and showed that he accepts them without all those rituals. They are saved by grace, and the any believing Jews are, too. “It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God” (Acts 15 v. 19). There is no need to require the yoke of Moses, for that would make things unnecessarily difficult for the gentile believers. James then suggested four rules: “Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood” (v. 20).

Since the Law of Moses includes all the laws that Moses gave ancient Israel, it includes the Ten Commandments. But shouldn’t Christians keep the Ten Commandments? “You are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts…. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life” (2 Cor. 3:3-6). “If the ministry that condemns men is glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness!” (verse 9). The Ten Commandments were a ministry that condemned people. They had some glory, but not nearly as much as the new covenant. The Ten Commandments cannot bring righteousness, but the new covenant does. The Ten Commandments, Paul is saying, came with glory, but they are fading away, just as surely as the glory of Moses’ face also faded. The new covenant not only has much greater glory, but it also “lasts.” The Ten Commandments, Paul implies, do not last forever. They were designed as a temporary “ministry of condemnation,” designed only for the Jews. Paul says that the Ten Commandments, although good, are temporary and fading. Paul is saying that there is a fundamental change in the way people relate to God. The old way is a written law that condemns people to death. The new way is the Holy Spirit, which brings forgiveness and life. The Spirit leads us to obey God, but it is a fundamentally different relationship, a different basis of relating to God. But despite his clarity of Apostles Paul Preaching, message, many people did not accept the gospel: “But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts” (verses 14-15). Many people today, Jewish or not, do not seem to understand. They keep reading the Bible with old covenant eyes. The only solution is Christ. Only in him can the “veil” be removed. “Whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away” (verse 16).

What does it mean to “turn to the Lord”? It means to see Jesus as the basis of our relationship with God. It means seeing our identity in him, not in the Law of Moses. Christ becomes central. We obey his law, the law of Christ (1 Cor. 9:21). When we put him first in our identity, he will help us see the covenantal change more clearly.

Much of the Old Testament is a story. Nevertheless, 2 Timothy 3   since it is part of Scripture, it is “useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” Stories can help inform our ethics. They can illustrate consequences, misunderstandings, weaknesses and flexibilities. The story of Abraham and circumcision is useful for teaching and for training in righteousness without requiring us to practice circumcision. The commands about sacrifice are to be read as part of a story, not as commands for us today. The details may be useful symbolically, but they are read first in the context of a story, not as currently valid laws.

And yet one of the false teachings, of Messianic Jews, Seventh Day Adventist is that the Torah (the law of Moses) was not abolished by Jesus’ death upon the cross. Rather, it continues on, its commands (at least some of them) being bound upon the church, and its obligatory force continuing until the return of Christ. The error in this affirmation is egregious, not to mention contradictory. It concedes the Torah has been fulfilled, and yet contends it must be “kept” today—even the least of its obligations. This stands in sharp contrast to the teaching of Christ, as well as the writers of the New Testament. The Mosaic regime was never intended to be a permanent institution. The notion that the Torah would continue in effect until the Second Coming of Christ—as some have alleged—is utterly without biblical support.

Apostle Paul stated that “as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse” (Galatians 3:10). The law and the curse were joined, as the apostle declared that: “we are no longer under a tutor [the law]” (24-25). How can that point possibly be ignored? The former covenant was replaced with a “better covenant” (cf. Hebrews 8:6ff)—unless, of course, one wishes to rip the entire book of Hebrews from the Bible.  Paul reminded all  Christians that prior to their conversion to the Lord, they were “dead through [their] trespasses.” But they were made “alive” together with Christ, who forgave all their sins. The apostle then contends that Christ “blotted out the bond written in ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us: and he has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross” (Colossians 2:13-14).

When the Son of God “fulfilled” the law, it had not failed, fallen, or been destroyed; it had been completed. Thus it no longer was a law to which the Jews, or anyone else, were obligated to obey as a legal system. To fail to recognize this truth is to overlook one of the most fundamental propositions of the New Testament  biblical literature.

For the woman who has a husband, is bound by law to the husband while he is living; but if the husband dies, she is discharged from the law of the husband. So if then, while the husband lives, if she is joined to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if the husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she is joined to another man. Wherefore, my brothers, you also are made dead to the law [Torah] through the body of Christ; that you should be joined to another, even to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit unto God (Romans 7:2-4).

The Mosaic laws would remain intact until such a time as it is fulfilled. This fulfillment is the very thing Jesus declared he came to accomplish! Thus the law was fulfilled, hence, it does not remain an obligatory system today.

Those who rely on works of the law are under a curse.” “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us” Galatians 3:12 However, the Law is not of faith; on the contrary, “HE WHO PRACTICES THEM SHALL LIVE BY THEM.” 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us– for it is written, “CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE “—14 in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.. All of the law’s demands have been fulfilled by Christ’s perfect law-keeping, its penalty fully paid by his death. This is why the Bible teaches that getting right with God is not based on law-keeping: “A person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ” (Galatians 2:16). Our only hope is having the blood and righteousness of Christ credited to our account.

Christ’s death thus removes — expiates — our sin and guilt. The guilt of our sin and shame was taken away from us and placed on Christ, who discharged it by his death.

John 1:29,  Jesus “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”

Isaiah 53:6 says, “The Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on him,”

Hebrews 9:26 says “He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.”

Romans 5:10-11: “For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.”
